Introduction to Dance (Ages 3-8)

My VIP & Me, Pre-Dance, Pre-Ballet/Tap, Kinder Ballet/Tap

These classes take the developmental needs of this age group into consideration when introducing basic dance concepts and terminology. Principles of body and spatial awareness, alignment, and rhythm are developed through games, music, and creative activities appropriate for this age level. Our VIP & Me and Pre-Dance students do not perform in an end of the year recital. We feel it is more appropriate to show families what they have learned on the last day of class in the spring. Pre-ballet/tap and Kinder-ballet/tap will end their dance year with an Introductory Performance Concert at the Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg.

Pre-Dance students must be 3 years old by September 1, 2024
Pre-Ballet/Tap students must be 4 years old by September 1, 2024

Kinder Ballet/Tap students must be 5 years old by September 1, 2024

Blends (Ballet/Jazz, Ballet/Tap, Ballet/Hip Hop)

Basic Technique instruction is given to lay the groundwork for ballet training. Jazz and tap instruction provide students with the large motor, coordination, and rhythm skill practice needed to further their dance development. Blend classes will end their dance year with a performance concert at the Prairie Center for the Arts.

Blend students must be 6 years old by September 1, 2024 (First and Second Graders)

Training Program (Ages 8-Adult)

The training program is designed for the more serious dancer who is looking to have a comprehensive dance education. On this track, ballet classes are required for all pointe, lyrical, modern, contemporary, and designated level jazz classes.  One year of ballet is required before students are able to take lyrical or modern.  All pointe classes follow a technique class that must be attended in addition to their regular ballet class. Students enrolled in contemporary must also be enrolled in modern.

Non-recital classes are offered to help enhance the training that students receive in their weekly classes. Classes include:

  • Floor Barre
